Honda introduced the 2015 Fit to the crowd at the North American international auto show this year. Manufacturers claim the 2015 Fit to be the best Fit to date.
2015 Honda Fit has a sleek sporty exterior design. Front grill and headlight design are new and adds to the sporty look. The large 16 inch tires and the 5-spoke wheel design dramatically increase the sportiness. The new Fit is slightly shorter and wider compared to the current model and has a longer wheel base. This gives the new Fit greater handling and manoeuvrability.
2015 Honda Fit has allocated more space for passengers (more passenger volume and rear legroom) from the interior. This is a point where new center-mounted fuel tank design of the 2015 Fit comes in handy. Fit is equipped with Honda-exclusive Magic Seat which provide multiple configurable seating positions. 2015 Fit also comes with foldable second row seats. When folded they provide an impressive 52.7 cubic feet of cargo space and the 60 inch overhaul height makes the loading/unloading of cargo very easy.
Noteworthy standard features that come with the 2015 Honda Fit includes Bluetooth connectivity, a multi-angle rear-view camera and Expanded View Driver’s Mirror. If you’re looking for more, there are available premium features like smart entry with push-button start, heated side mirrors, a moon-roof, heated front seats, Honda’s exclusive LaneWatch display and a 7-inch Display Audio1 touchscreen interface with HondaLink smartphone connectivity. For comfort and style seeking customers Fit gives the option to go for leather-trimmed seating.
Under the hood of 2015 Fit is a direct-injected 1.5-liter DOHC i-VTEC engine which generates 130 horsepower at 6500rpm and 114 lb.-ft. of torque at 4600 rpm. The Fit offers its customers to choose between slick-shifting 6-speed manual transmission and Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with available paddle shifters. Expected fuel economy ratings are 33 city/41 highway/36 combined4 (CVT-equipped models).
2015 Honda Fit has a more rigid chassis due to extensive use of ultra-high strength steel than in any other previous model so when it comes to safety, the 2015 Fit clearly stands out from the rest. It’s equipped with newly a designed suspension system to deliver better handling, ride comfort and NVH. The fit is equipped with the Honda ACE body structure. The expectations of the safety of 2015 Fit are high. It is anticipated to earn top safety scores from NHTSA and IIHS.
The all-new 2015 Fit is set to go on sale in the U.S. this spring.
